Web services using these types of advanced standards have been adopted more slowly, in part due to the slow pace of the ratification of the standards and rollout of their behavior (see “‘That’s All’ for Web Services” G00209765), and in part because many of the interactions using Web services don’t require these capabilities or use other methods to achieve them.This definition of advanced Web services is a change from the definition used in earlier [[Gartners_Hype_Cycle_Methodology|Hype Cycles]], and more accurately represents the current state of these capabilities.
